Weekend Update

Sorry about this late post.  I know it was difficult to get through Monday and start your week without knowing what we did this past weekend.  I didn't go to work yesterday which means I wasn't at a computer.  I don't know why but I'm pretty paranoid about this pregnancy.  I keep thinking something is going to go wrong.  So yesterday morning when I woke and my pajama pants were wet I panicked and scheduled a doctor's appointment.  Turns out everything is okay.  The baby was moving around while we watched on the sonogram machine.  My appointment wasn't until 2:50 so I took advantage of a day off and slept almost all day at my parent's house while Pastora took care of Edie at our house.  Let me tell you this, this pregnancy is making me a zombie.  I haven't even brushed my teeth the last two nights because I couldn't get out of the bed and walk to the bathroom.  The worst part is that I was supposed to go the see Neil Young last night.  I bought the tickets several months ago before I knew I was pregnant.  The opening act started at 8:00 p.m.  My mom went in my place because I couldn't stay awake that late.  Apparently it was the most moving show ever.  I know I'm lame but I was sound asleep by 7:30 last night.

Here's the weekend.

Splashing in the tub.

See the Milo lookalike, Lord Gibbons.

In swim class they call the side of the pool the safe place.

Pictures from Grandma's

Edie slept at my parent's house last night so I could retire early, very early.  Here are some shots of Edie just waking up.

Wakey wake Frog.

Never in my life....

have I had a small appetite but the constant nausea I have been living with lately has me repulsed by absolutely every type of food.  That is except one.  There is one food that doesn't make me want to vomit.  One food I have eaten exclusively all week.  Three words... Cafe Izmir hummus.  And of course their pita bread too.  Most Dallasites know this is the world's best hummus.  They put some type of dairy product in it to make it super creamy and smooth but they won't tell you what type of dairy it is.  I've asked.  One large container is about $17 so it ain't cheap but, damn it's good.  Hummus, pita bread, fruit, water, and Tazo's Passion tea is all my diet consists of nowadays.  Oh and the occasional yogurt.

Who Woulda Thought

This is all to install a new George Rickey sculpture.  They jackhammered through 8 feet of concrete to get to this point.

Secret Garden

I love my crew!  Last year we planted several chili plants in the garden by our storage yard and garage.  This year the guys have planted about 20 different pepper plants, tomatoes, okra, cilantro, and watermelon.

This is what you see from the outside.  The veggies are completely hidden.

Chilies galore.

Tomatoes.

Roberto keeps them fertilized and watered.

Sorry Whitney!

Something is wrong with my camera.  I'm not sure what is going on but it only takes pictures about 50% of the time.  I've had the campus photographer look at it and he doesn't know what's wrong with it.  My camera did not work the majority of the weekend.  Almost all the zoo pictures are from Liz's camera.  Mom took two pictures of the Guthrie visit and I didn't include them in the previous post because I was chewing in both of them.  But since I'll do anything for my readers I will put the pictures on the internet anyway for everyone to see.  See the comments in the previous post to understand why.

Davis and the back of Wilson's head.

I had to crop myself out of this one because it's way too disgusting.  There is not one picture of myself that when seen I don't ask, "Is that really what I look like?"

Weekend Update

This weekend Chris actually took off from work so we could share a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with his sister Liz, her husband Jeff, and their adorable daughter Charlotte who is only 6 weeks younger than Edie.  We had several firsts: the zoo, a dip into a real swimming pool, and Chris not working on a weekend.  Edie and Charlotte got along great.  They shared toys and were utterly adorable.  We lounged around a lot and I ate too much.  Jeff is planning on throwing a petting zoo birthday party for Charlotte (and himself) in September so Chris and I will try to make it to Mandeville, Louisiana to attend.  Can't wait!

I don't have any good pictures to prove it but Uncle Billy, PC, and my cousin Ben's two boys, Davis and Wilson stopped by on their way back from Oklahoma for lunch on Sunday.  The boys are adorable and it was good to see them.  As he always does, Davis asked several times if Edie is a boy or a girl.

Have rattle will travel.  Edie now puts objects in her mouth so that when she crawls she can bring them with her.

The Fam.

Chris, Charlotte, and Liz.

Charlotte smiles for the camera everytime.

Forbidden love.  Jeff is madly in love with Milo.

Jeff and his two favorites.

Liz, Chris, and the girls.

Me, Frog, and Milo.

As you can see, the girls weren't blown away by the zoo.

Tooooooooo cute.

Look at Edie crying.
